Fluorofil Plus

Product catalog summary
Overview: The FluorofilTM Plus High Flow Sterile Gas Filter is designed with a highly hydrophobic Gore ePTFE membrane, offering high gas flow rates at low pressure differentials. It is ideal for sterile gas filtration and venting applications, particularly in wet gas sterilizing scenarios such as fermenter air feeds.
Applications: The filter is suitable for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, and beverage industries. Key applications include sterile process gases, sterile vents, biotechnology exhaust gas filtration, and powder handling.
Features and Benefits: The filter uses a world-leading GoreTM ePTFE membrane, validated for bacterial removal with a log reduction value >7. It retains bacterial spores and viruses, offers high flow rates with low pressure differentials, and incorporates a stainless steel core for mechanical strength. It can be steam sterilized up to 135°C for 500 cycles.
Construction: The cartridge is made from a multi-layer combination of irrigation mesh, filter membrane, and drainage material, with a stainless steel core and polypropylene outer support. It is manufactured in an ISO Cleanroom environment.
Specifications: The filter membrane is Gore ePTFE, with polypropylene support and drainage layers. It is available in various lengths and can withstand maximum differential pressures depending on temperature. It is integrity tested and has low total organic carbon (TOC) levels.
Quality Assurance: Manufactured in an ISO Cleanroom, each cartridge is individually tested and identified with a unique serial number. It meets FDA, USP Class VI, and EC Directives for Food Contact standards.
Chemical Compatibility: Compatible with a wide range of solvents and chemicals, with a comprehensive guide available. Users should verify compatibility for specific applications.
Additional Information: For further details on filter housings and other specifications, contact Porvair Filtration Group representatives.

Fluorofil Plus-1

FluorofilTM Plus High Flow Sterile Gas Filter with ePTFE Membrane FluorofilTM Plus cartridges are manufactured using a highly hydrophobic Gore ePTFE membrane. The enhanced ePTFE membrane offers exceptionally high gas flow rates at low pressure differentials (see graph). FluorofilTM Plus cartridges are recommended for sterile gas filtration and venting applications. The hydrophobic characteristics of the ePTFE membrane makes the FluorofilTM Plus filter cartridge particularly suitable for wet gas sterilising applications, such as fermenter air feed. The construction of the FluorofilTM Plus cartridge has design features that allow higher membrane surface area, lower pressure drops and incorporates a stainless steel core for greater mechanical strength when operated at higher temperatures. • Sterile process gases The supply of sterile gas for critical applications in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and beverage markets. FluorofilTM Plus ePTFE membrane cartridges meet the demanding filtration requirements of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and beverage industries. They are suitable for high flow sterile venting and gas filtration applications, including the filtration of wet gases. Typical applications include: • Sterile vents The safe sterile venting of processing vessels in pharmaceutical, fermentation, and food and beverage processes. • Biotechnology The sterile filtration of exhaust gases from biological fermenters. • Powder handling and tabletting The removal of ultrafine powder particles from compounding environments. “Quality for Less” World Class Filtration Solutions
