Heat shrink tubing, general - 1

Shrink tubes are used as protection cover in applications which are exposed to aggressive chemicals, moisture, high temperatures or other critical environmental factors. Due to the fact that our shrink tube generates a better seal, it ensures a longer life time of your product. Key properties shrink tubing • Excellent electrical properties • Excellent chemical resistance • Smoothness • Low dielectric constant • Durable Possibilities Partly by extending its service life, shrink tube is used in numerous applications in the Electrical, Automotive, Medical, Aerospace and many other industries. • TL- en UV lamp protectors • PTFE heat shrink tubing • FEP heat shrink tubing • PTFE/FEP heat shrink tubing • Polyolefin heat shrink tubing • Viton® heat shrink tubing • Kynar® heat shrink tubing The choice of material depends on the application; if the product must withstand temperatures up to (briefly) 350°C, PTFE heat shrink tubing is a right choice. For the protection and coating/lining of products with larger diameters (from 40mm) is commonly choosen for FEP, MFA or PFA. These heat shrink tubes are resistant up to resp. 205, 240, and 260°C. When a very smooth surface structure is required (no stock of fluids), we recommend FEP or PFA heat shrink tubing (depending on environmental factors) Recently we also added PEEK heat shrink tubing to our range of goods. PEEK has a very high melt temperature of 343°C as well. Please contact Polyfluor Plastics if you need more information about PEEK heat shrink tubing.
