Design and Operation
The EPP-Series gauge-block calibration system utilizes an LM 20 laser-interferometric gauging probe with a measuring range of 20 mm and a resolution of 1 nm. It is designed for calibrating parallel-sided gauge blocks. The system's accuracy is supported by the German national bureau of standards (PTB), which found metric errors of less than 10 nm. The system requires only 15 reference-standard gauge blocks for calibrating a 122-piece set, reducing calibration costs and time.

Applications
The system is suitable for calibrating plane-parallel gauge blocks with rectangular cross-sections and complies with ISO 3650 standards.

Signal-Processing and Control Software

• Controls probe motion and transmits data.
• Compensates for errors and computes center sizes.
• Outputs deviations and classifies gauge blocks by accuracy.
