Sub-Miniature Advanced Performance Detector Features Leak detection, Mass spectrometry, VUV spectrometry Detector for miniature, field portable and hand-held instruments Compact, high performance High gain, low noise 3.9 mm Ø collection Bakeable to 300°C Low profile design The PHOTONIS QUANTUM™ Sub-Miniature Advanced Performance Detector offers previously unobtainable levels of amplification, dynamic range, and detection sensitivity in an ultra compact, easy to use package. It is specifically designed for miniature sensors and hand held analytical instruments, such as mass spectrometers, Residual Gas Analyzers, VUV spectrometers, and leak detectors. The leading edge design of the QUANTUM™ detector allows operation up to 100°C and non-operational vacuum baking to 300°C. The high temperature capability of the QUANTUM™ can result in shorter chamber degassing cycles and ultra quiet instrument operation. The QUANTUM™ detector utilizes Long-Life™ Microchannel Plates (MCPs). PHOTONIS exclusive Long-Life™ microchannel plates are the highest performing MCPs available. High channel density and Extended Dynamic Range™ (EDR) MCPs provide dynamic range improvements of up to ten times that of conventional microchannel plates. These MCPs also give the new QUANTUM™ sub-miniature detector superior sensitivity in the smallest package available. This compact assembly provides for easy installation. The flat input surface provides uniform ion conversion and the higher aspect ratio of the MCPs provides gains in excess of 10,000.
