EGRK Heavy duty PARALLEL ELECTRIC GRIPPER - 1

Heavy duty PARALLEL ELECTRIC GRIPPER Major Benefits • Heavy duty design provides high grip force and large moment capacities. • Complete family of electric grippers with a wide range of grip forces. Three sizes with four variations per size. • Simple, easy-to-use “Plug and Grip” electric grippers. No programming needed at customer site. • Can be used both in grip open/close operations. • Available with a motor controller in a DIN rail mountable enclosure. • Each gripper has its own optimized controller. Final grip force and high speed travel may be changed via potentiometers or input terminals. • Low electric power consumption. Operates on 24 VDC power supply. • Fully sealed motor housing - against contaminants and moisture. PATENT PENDING Also available in pneumatic version! hardcoated aluminum body for superior wear resistance available in long or short jaw travels for maximum application flexibility stainless steel cover provides protection of jaws on top and sides of gripper and retains lubrication hardened steel jaws with precision dowel holes for accurate mounting of tooling stainless steel cover protects magnetic target from debris three mountings available for flexible installation • from front • from back • from bottom hardened steel cam driver provides high grip force and synchronous jaw movement standard unit includes magnet for use with two-position teachable or single position switches wear-compensating jaw guide system provides highest precision of jaw alignment over life of gripper proximity switch target and mounting brackets are optional for use with inductive proximity switches easily accessed lubrication ports for extended unit life motor housing is doweled to gripping mechanism to maintain accurate alignment high torque electric motor and gripping mechanism provide highest grip force and moment capability in its class industry standard M12, 4 pin, male connector for ease of integration enclosed motor housing with sealed connector, fasteners, and gasket provides protection for drive

SERIES EGRKF (High Force) PERFORMANCE SIZE * Relubrication of the lead screw and nut can be done by removing the two 1/4" BSPP plugs on the gripper body and applying the recommended grease with a brush. No disassembly of the gripper needed. Refer to the operating instructions for details. ** The motor enclosure is IP67 rated. SERIES EGRKC (High Speed) PERFORMANCE SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS Controller programming is designed to provide the best results when tooling grip point is approximately in the middle of the tooling length ranges shown in the grip force charts on the following page. Use the...

HOW IT WORKS The controller has two adjustable modes; high speed travel and force. The high speed travel adjustment allows reduction of the cycle time if full jaw travel is not required. The controller first drives the motor using high speed travel mode to rapidly close the jaws on the part. Then it begins a force-generating mode to grip the part. The high speed travel mode is controlled by time. If full jaw travel is not required, the high speed travel time may be reduced allowing the force generating mode to start sooner, shortening the overall cycle time. If the tooling and part...
