SCV series

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides comprehensive technical specifications and customization options for PHD's Series SCV Slides, which are suitable for non-rotating vertical or light-duty horizontal applications. These slides are powered by PHD's Series CV Cylinder, known for its durability and enhanced seal and bearing support.
Major Benefits: The Series SCV Slides offer oversized guide rods for stability, a simple design for non-rotating applications, easy tooling mounting, and availability in eight bore sizes.
Industry Uses: These slides are used in material handling, conveyors, snack foods, assembly machine building, and general assembly.
Key Features: Features include extra-long self-lubricating bronze bushings, optional stroke adjustment collars with shock pads, an anodized aluminum alloy body with counterbored holes for easy mounting, precision ground hardened guide shafts for smooth linear motion, and the Rodlok® option for secure static tool plate positioning.
Specifications: Operating pressure ranges from 35 psi to 150 psi (2.4 bar to 10 bar), with an operating temperature of -20°F to +180°F (-29°C to +82°C). The velocity can reach up to 80 in/sec (2 m/sec) at zero load. The slides are factory lubricated for their rated life and are field repairable.
Ordering Information: To order, specify the product, cylinder type, design number, slide size, slide travel, tool plate extension, and options. Options may affect unit length and performance.
Options: Available options include travel adjustment and shock pads, corrosion-resistant materials, cushion control for smooth deceleration, and port control options for both ends, extend only, or retract only.
Engineering Data: The document includes thrust capacity, allowable mass, dynamic moment capacity, and cylinder force calculations, along with detailed dimensions and cushion control locations for precise application.
Rodlok Locking Device: The Rodlok locks the tool plate in a static position by gripping the piston rod when pressure is removed. It operates between 60 psi and 150 psi, while the SCV Slide with Rodlok operates between 45 psi and 150 psi. It is not intended as a personnel safety device.
Port Control Options: PHD's Port Control® regulates slide speed through its stroke using a built-in flow control, with options for port controls on both ends, extend only, or retract only. Standard and alternate port locations are specified for flexibility.
Magnet for Switches: An optional magnetic band equips the cylinder for use with PHD Reed and Solid State Switches, which mount easily using "T" slots.
Product Variations: Variations include extended guide shafts, second bearing housings, and travel adjustment features, enhancing load carrying capability and reducing wear.
Key Data from Tables: Tables provide detailed measurements in both imperial and metric units for various components, including port sizes, locking forces, and connector details for switches.
Notes: All dimensions are reference only unless specifically toleranced. Cleanliness is emphasized for optimal Rodlok performance, and the Rodlok is not available with a corrosion-resistant finish.
Conclusion: The Series SCV Slides offer robust and versatile solutions for various industrial applications, with customizable options to meet specific needs.
