Pulsed DC Coil Excitation DESCRIPTION The Electromagnetic flowmeter Series SMAG - 300 accurately measures the flow rate of conducting liquids or slurries flowing in closed pipes. Due to simple and rigid design the flowmeter is an obstruction less & maintainance free instrument in place of conventional mechanical flow measuring devices. The use of “Pulsed DC” technology offers highest ability & better measuring accuracy in form of 4-20mA DC Isolated o/p linearly proportional to volumetric flow. The SMAG - 300 flow meter is a sensor with integrated transmitter and local Rate & Total digital Display .It is available with LED or 16 x 2 backlit LCD display for instantaneous rate of flow and Totalisation. Additional batching facility can be supplied The SMAG - 300 is a flanged meter available in sizes from DN15 to DN 300.The rugged flow sensors is constructed from completely welded construction. Stainless steel electrodes are standard and other options are also available such as Hastelloy-C, Monel etc. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION The I SMAG - 300 works on the principle of Faraday’s law of Electromagnetic Induction. A magnetic field is generated by the instrument in the flow tube.The fluid flowing through this magnetic field generates a voltage that is proportional to the flow velocity.
