ManualHalfbridge Transducer

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Halfbridge transducers utilize the inductive core measurement principle, providing absolute position measurement and high mechanical durability. This manual addresses the T070, T100, T300, and T500 series, with specific instructions available in datasheets for custom models.
Security Advices
Regular plausibility checks are essential to prevent inaccurate measurements. A master piece should be used to verify the transducer's functionality.
Maintenance
Annual checks are advised to maintain mechanical integrity and metrology capabilities, such as linearity and repeatability. These checks can be conducted by the manufacturer or a qualified laboratory.
Installation
The transducer includes key components like a tip with an M2.5 thread, a protective bellow, and a counter nut for securing the linear ball bearing. Proper installation requires correct positioning and securing of the bellow and tip.
Application
HIRT halfbridge transducers are compatible with the TESA standard and require properly adjusted electronics for conditioning. A 21-point measurement protocol is provided to verify linearity deviation.
Conformity
The transducers comply with regional norms and directives, including 2014/30/EU (CE marking) and 2011/65/EU (RoHS directive). They do not exceed maximum allowable substance limits and contain tungsten in the carbide ball, with supply chain details available upon request.
Mounting Procedure for New Bellow
Ensure the bellow is clean, free of cracks, and securely positioned.
Pretravel Setting
  • Pretravel is preset according to datasheet specifications.
  • To adjust, use the supplied wrench to unlock the counter nut.
  • Connect the transducer to a compatible display unit.
  • Rotate the tip to achieve the desired pretravel setting, ensuring the shaft is fully outward.
  • Tighten the counter nut.
Spring Change for Measuring Force
Changing the spring affects pretravel and requires a full metrology check. It is recommended to order transducers with the desired spring force from the manufacturer.
Fixing the Transducer
The transducer can be clamped at any shaft position, but avoid overtightening to prevent affecting the linear bearing preload. Distribute clamping force evenly.
Extension Cable
Extension cables can affect signal sensitivity and linearity. Contact the manufacturer for more details.
Application and Sensitivity Setting
HIRT halfbridge transducers comply with TESA standards. Each transducer is tested for sensitivity and linearity, with results provided in an enclosed protocol.
Pneumatic Advanced Transducers
  • Maximum pressure for P models is 1.5 bar and for L models is 4.5 bar.
  • Apply pneumatic air only when contacting a workpiece to avoid damaging the linear ball bearing.
  • Ensure the air is oil-free and filtered to less than 1 micrometer.
Conformity
  • Complies with guideline 2014/30/EU for EMC and 2011/65/EU for RoHS.
  • Transducers do not exceed material concentration limits as per RoHS guidelines.
  • Wolfram used in the tip is traceable upon request.
