Toll Free: 87 PERMATEX (877-376-2839) 10 Columbus Blvd., Hartford, Connecticut 06106 Technical Data Sheet Permatex Oil Plug Sealant 6875 Parkland Boulevard, Solon Ohio 44139 AAM Revised 04/13 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Permatex Oil Plug Sealant is a non-toxic, non-drying thread sealing compound consisting of a blend of non-melting grease, PTFE particles and other inert solid fillers engineered to produce a leak-proof seal on oil pan drain plugs. PRODUCT BENEFITS Protects oil plug threads Non-hardening for easy disassembly Prevents leakage Does not contain lead, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, or clay fillers. Prevents corrosion TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Used for sealing and protecting oil pan drain plugs DIRECTIONS FOR USE 1. Clean the plug threads to be sealed with mineral spirits and wipe with a clean cloth. 2. Tear open the pouch and apply the sealant to cover all of the engaged threads, making sure that the material is in the grooves of the threads. 3. Assemble the parts and wrench-tighten to the proper torque. FOR CLEANUP 1. Clean up any excess material off of metal parts with mineral spirits. 2. Clean hands using a Permatex brand hand cleaner. GENERAL INFORMATION This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials. For safe handling information on this product, consult the Material Safety Data Sheet, (MSDS). ODERING INFORMATION Part Number 09943 Container Size 4 gram pouch STORAGE Products shall be ideally stored in a cool, dry location in unopened containers at a temperature between 8 and 28C (46 and 82F) unless otherwise labeled. Optimal storage is at the lower half of this temperature range.
