Product catalog summary
Overview
The POLY-THERM Fiberglass Jacketed Polyurethane Insulated Piping System is designed for the distribution of liquids at temperatures ranging from -320°F to 250°F. It features a high-strength fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin jacket for maximum insulation protection.

Applications
The system is suitable for various applications including domestic hot water systems, geothermal collection and distribution, waste heat recovery, cryogenic piping, solar collection and distribution, district heating and cooling, process fluid transport, fuel and heavy oil transport, condensate return, and chilled water distribution.

Specifications
- The fiberglass jacket is produced using a multidirectional filament winding process, providing protection against environmental factors.
- Insulation is applied using a spray process to ensure void-free coverage, enhancing thermal efficiency.
- The system can accommodate various piping materials such as steel, stainless steel, copper, ductile iron, HDPE, PVC, and FRP.
- Engineered to reduce field costs with custom-made, factory-fabricated fittings.

Material Properties
- Density: >2.0 lb/ft³
- Flexural Strength: 25,000 psi (ASTM D-790)
- Compressive Strength: 30 psi (ASTM D-1621), 60,000 psi (ASTM D-695)
- Tensile Strength: 20,000 psi (ASTM D-638)
- K-factor (initial @ 73°F): .16 BTU-In (ASTM C-518)
- Heat Distortion Temp: >183°F (ASTM D-648)
- Closed Cell: 90% Min (ASTM C-2856)

Optional Features
Electric heat tracing is available for freeze protection and temperature maintenance, ensuring efficient product flow and reduced operating costs.

Installation and Field Closure
- Recommended insulation thickness varies by pipe size and application.
- Field joints are hydrostatically tested and insulated with poured-in-place insulation.
- Protective jackets are filament wound and applied directly to the insulating foam.
- Backfill involves a 4-inch layer of sand or fine gravel, followed by compacted layers of suitable soil.

Compliance and Warranty
The system design complies with ANSI B31.1 standards. PERMA-PIPE provides factory-trained field technical assistance and offers a warranty as per their Standard Terms and Conditions of Sale.
