Compact 27

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed specifications and guidelines for the X-Flow Compact 27 ultrafiltration membrane, designed for applications such as effluent treatment and membrane bioreactors.
Element Specifications: The membrane has a hydraulic diameter of 8.0 mm and a membrane area of 27 m². It features a module length of 3000 mm and a diameter of 213 mm. The permeate connection is 73.0 mm in diameter.
Applications: Suitable for effluent treatment and membrane bioreactors, the membrane is designed to handle various chemical environments with specific pH and temperature constraints.
General Solvent Resistance: The membrane shows resistance to acids (pH >2), bases (pH <11), aliphatic alcohols, hydrocarbons, and oils. It is less resistant to organic esters, ketones, ethers, and polar organic solvents.
Cleaning Chemical Resistance: Recommended cleaning agents include NaOCl, H2O2, NaOH, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, EDTA, citric acid, and enzymatic compounds. Cleaning should maintain a pH between 1 and 11 and not exceed 40°C.
Operating Specifications: The membrane operates under a maximum feed pressure of 800 kPa at 20°C, with a maximum temperature of 60°C. Pressure specifications vary with temperature.
Technical Specifications: The membrane is constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride on a composite polyester carrier. It features an asymmetric structure with a mean pore size of 30 nm, offering high performance and anti-fouling properties.
Storage Guidelines: Membranes should be stored in a dry, ventilated area between 0 and 40°C, avoiding freezing temperatures. After use, membranes must remain wet and treated with a biocide to prevent biological growth.
Important Notes: The document emphasizes the importance of adhering to specified conditions to avoid damage and ensure optimal performance. It also notes that the information provided is based on general experience and does not guarantee final product performance.

X-FLOW COMPACT 27 ULTRAFILTRATION MEMBRANE MEMBRANE ELEMENT DATASHEET 8 INCH 8.0 MM Compact 27 ARTICLE CODE : 7821KPC99R GENERAL SOLVENT RESISTANCE CLEANING CHEMICAL RESISTANCE • Effluent treatment Since the resistance of the membrane to solvents strongly depends on the actual process conditions, the indications given below should only be considered as guidelines. Depending on the nature of the feed solution the following cleaning agents can be chosen: • Membrane bioreactor Acids, pH >2 Bases, pH <11 Organic esters, ketones, ethers Aliphatic alcohols Aliphatic hydrocarbons Halogenated hydrocarbons Aromatic hydrocarbons Polar organic solvents Oils Sodium Hypochlorite - Typical 200 ppm, at ≤ 40 ºC - Maximum 500 ppm - 250.000 ppm hours cumulative at 30 ºC ELEMENT SPECIFICATIONS NaOCl (active chlorine) H2O2 NaOH Nitric acid Phosphoric acid EDTA Citric acid Enzymatic compounds It is recommended to keep the pH between 1 and 11 and not to exceed a temperature of 40 °C during cleaning and/or disinfection. If those standard cleaning techniques fail to remove the foulants, more concentrated cleaning solutions can be tried. Please contact X-Flow for recommendations. It has to be stressed, however, that no warranty can be given on the efficiency of any cleaning nor on the membrane performance after such cleaning attempts. X-FLOW COMPACT 27 ULTRAFILTRATION MEMBRANE MEMBRANE ELEMENT DATASHEET STORAGE New membrane modules can be stored as supplied. Membrane modules should be stored in a dry, normally ventilated place, away from sources of heat, ignition and direct sunlight. Store between 0 and 40 °C. The membrane modules should not be subjected to any freezing temperatures. After use, UF membranes need to be stored wet at all times. To avoid biological growth during shutdowns or storage, wet membranes should be treated with a compatible biocide. The membrane is compatible with many common disinfecting agents or biocidal...
