Thermocouple inserts. Precious metal sensors in ceramic insulation, without thermowells, according to DIN 43732, DIN 43725 and IEC 584 1. Limiting temperatures for thermocouples according to wire diameters The permissible temperatures given below are for exposure to gases. The operating temperature is generally the maximum temperature permitted for the thermowell. 3. Tolerance of thermocouples on delivery according to IEC 584 Class 1: types S and R (optional) Class 2: types S and R (standard) type B (optional) Class 3: type B (standard). 4. Length “Li“ of insets The length “Li“ of the inset is greater by 25 mm than the nominal length “L“ of the probes given on data sheet TTS841. • Replacement inserts for mounting in the ceramic thermowells of type TTS841 probes • Industrial ovens (heat treatment, incineration) • Chimneys (combustion gases) • Fusion baths for metal and glass These insets consist of precious metal thermocouple sensors integrated within a ceramic tube, which protects the sensor all over its length down to the junction point. The diameters of the tube correspond to the usual internal diameters of the thermowells. The measuring circuits end at the ceramic terminal block, for connecting the wires. The terminal block is designed for mounting in a “size“ DIN A connection head (not supplied with the inset). 5. Identification of measurement circuits on connection head The type of thermocouple is identified by a colour code, according to IEC 584. The ceramic thermowells are sensitive to knocks, so should be handled with the greatest of care. Please specify: model, type of sensor, range, immersion, options if any Defective insets should only be replaced if the operation can be done conveniently, if the ceramic insulation is discoloured, and provided that the thermowell shows no signs of wear. Otherwise, the entire probe should be changed as a unit. These insets are not designed for use in explosive environments PCI (Process System Solutions) Ltd, Unit 7 Slaidburn Crescent, Southport, Merseyside, PR9 9YF, UK, Tel: +44 (0) 1704 509090, Fax: +44 (0) 1704 509091, email: sales@pci-instruments.com, Website: www.pci-instruments.com (Specifications are subject to change without notic
