Thermowells Solid Machined Weld In TWSW

Product catalog summary

Introduction
A thermowell is a thermally conductive socket designed to protect delicate instrument sensing elements from corrosive effects and allow for instrument interchange or calibration checks without interrupting the process. Thermowells are suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature, and high-velocity applications, selected based on pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, and corrosion parameters.

Ordering Information
To order a thermowell, specify the model, shank type, material, instrument connection, bore (internal diameter), instrument insertion length, lagging extension, process connection, thermowell insertion length, options, and certificates. An example order might be: TWSW, tapered shank, 316L, 1/2” BSPF, Ø7 mm bore, 150 mm insertion length, 0 mm lagging extension, 1” BSPM process connection, 100 mm thermowell insertion length.

Connections
Instrument connections available include BSPP, BSPT, NPT, and Metric. Process connections are available for weld-in 3/4” or 1” pipes. Shank types include tapered, straight, and stepped.

Materials
Standard materials include AISI 316, 316-Ti, 304, and 321. Special materials available are Duplex, Monel 400, Titanium, Nickel, Hastelloy C276, Inconel 600, and PTFE.

Options
Optional features include an SS tag wired to the thermowell, plug and chain, and coatings such as FEP, PTFE, tantalum, and tungsten carbide.

Optional Documentation
Available documentation includes construction drawings, hydrostatic pressure tests, dye penetrating tests, 3.1 material certificates, certificates according to NACE, heat number stamping on the well and flange, and wake frequency calculations to ASME PTC 19.3-1974.

Model TWSW - Tapered Shank
The TWSW model is a solid machined weld-in thermowell with standard dimensions provided for process connections and bore sizes. Other sizes are available upon request.
