Instrumentation for High Temperature Environments

Instrumentation for High Temperature Environments

Product catalog summary
Overview
IMI Sensors is a global supplier of high-temperature instrumentation, providing accelerometers and pressure sensors for demanding industrial environments. These sensors are crucial for preventing failures and reducing downtime.

High Temperature Accelerometers
IMI offers high-temperature accelerometers with internal electronics (ICP®) that can withstand continuous temperatures of 325 ºF (162 ºC). For higher temperatures, charge accelerometers with integral ICP® amplifiers operate at 900 ºF (482 ºC), and charge mode accelerometers function at 1200 ºF (649 ºC).

High Temperature Pressure Sensors
These sensors are designed for environments with continuous temperatures of 1200 ºF (649 ºC), detecting and measuring dynamic pressure phenomena.

UHT-12™ Crystal Technology
Many sensors feature UHT-12™ elements, offering benefits such as absence of pyroelectric noise spikes up to 1200 ºF (649 ºC), consistent sensitivity over temperature changes, and shear mode crystals isolated from base strain.

Charge Amplifiers
Charge amplifiers convert high impedance signals from sensors to low-impedance voltage signals for data collection. Differential charge amplifiers are used with sensors having differential outputs.

Applications
IMI Sensors are used in various applications including nuclear power plant commissioning, machinery protection in high-temperature environments, and turbine condition monitoring.

Instrumentation for High Temperature Environments-1

High Temperature Sensors Instrumentation for High Temperature Environments Accelerometers and Pressure Sensors for Demanding Measurement & Monitoring Requirements Choice of charge, ICP®, and charge with integral ICP® amplifier sensors. Variety of sensitivities to accommodate a wide range of applications Broad bandwidth, high shock survivability, wide operating temperature range, high resolution, and large dynamic range options Commissioning of Nuclear Power Plants Machinery Protection in High Temperature Environments IMI Sensors is a global supplier of high temperature instrumentation. Often used in demanding industrial environments, these accelerometers and pressure sensors provide critical data that prevents failures and reduces downtime. Our high temperature accelerometers with internal electronics (ICP®) have the best temperature capability of any design on the market today. The high temperature ICP® accelerometers are capable of withstanding continuous temperatures of 325 ºF (162 ºC). For applications that exceed those temperatures, IMI Sensors has a variety of charge accelerometers with integral ICP® amplifier that can operate at 900 ºF (482 ºC) and charge mode accelerometers that can operate at 1200 ºF (649 ºC). Our high temperature pressure sensors are designed for operation at the highest temperatures. They detect and measure dynamic pressure phenomena in environments with a continuous temperature of 1200 ºF (649 ºC). Many of the 900 ºF (482 ºC) and 1200 ºF (649 ºC) sensors (Models EX600B1X, 357A100, 357D9X, EX611AX0, 176MXX and 176A02) feature a UHT-12™ element. The new UHT-12™ crystal technology features:     n Absence of pyroelectric noise spikes up to 1200 ºF (649 ºC) that remains more consistent over a wide temperature change n Shear mode crystals isolated from base strain & transverse measurement errors n No depletion of oxygen at high temperatures, thereby not requiring a vent or window in the housing Power Generation Turbine Condition Monitoring Our charge amplifiers are designed to convert the high impedance signal of a charge accelerometer or pressure sensor without integral signal conditioning circuits to a low-impedance voltage signal for transmission and data collection. Differential charge amplifiers should be paired with charge accelerometers and pressure sensors with a differential output (measurement output as a plus and minus signal) to convert the differential output into a single-ended output (measurement output as a signal and ground).
