Transverse Direction Orientation (TDO) Systems
The TDO systems are designed for uniaxial in-line or off-line cross-web stretching. Key features include a smooth chain transition during stretching, a deflection angle of up to 20º, compact design, and reduced lubrication needs. The systems support stretch ratios up to 30:1 and line speeds of 1500 fpm (450 mpm). Various heat sources can be used, including gas, electric, steam, and infrared.

Superflex® Rail Hinge System
This system enhances the TDO process with features like a snap latch design for clips, improved anti-wrap devices, and high tensile strength bases. It is optimized for high-speed operations and can be integrated into existing or new tenter frame systems.

Model 475DJ High Speed TDO/Tenter Clips
The 475DJ Tenter Clip is designed for high-speed transverse direction orientation of various films, including polypropylene, polystyrene, and PET. It features a low profile design for efficient heating, high strength chain, and dual jaws for improved film handling. The clips ensure precise gripping across a range of film thicknesses.

Transverse Direction Orientation (TDO) Systems Uniaxial In-Line or Off-Line Cross-Web Stretching Superflex® Rail Hinge System Marshall and Williams Plastics is a recognized global leader and innovator in plastics orientation and casting equipment. Founded in 1920, Marshall and Williams built tenter frame systems for the textile industry and was the first to adapt this technology to orient plastic film and sheet. Transverse direction orientation of plastic film and sheet is accomplished by heating the web and stretching it in the transverse (or cross) direction on a tenter frame.
