Product catalog summary
Contact Information: Parker Hannifin Corporation, Sporlan Division - Refrigeration Business Unit, located in Broadview, IL, provides contact details for inquiries.
Purpose: The P-Series solenoids and pressure regulators are designed for weld-in applications, reducing leaks and simplifying service. They offer enhanced pressure, temperature range, and flow capacities, with replaceable internal components for easy maintenance.
Product Features: These valves are compatible with various refrigerants, feature a cartridge-based design, increased flow capacity, and integral features to prevent contamination. They are lighter than traditional products and available in stainless steel for harsh environments.
Technical Data: The valves operate within a liquid temperature range of -60°C to 120°C and have a maximum rated pressure of 52 bar. They require a minimum pressure drop to open and have specific operating pressure differentials for AC and DC coils.
Function and Design: P-Series valves are normally closed and designed to minimize foreign material entry, reducing wear and operational issues.
Application Guide and Variations: The valves can function in various roles, including solenoids and regulators, with configurations for different operational applications.
Regulator Pilot Assemblies: These assemblies use a diaphragm and spring mechanism to control pressure, maintaining differential pressure between inlet and outlet.
Installation and Maintenance: Installation requires an upstream strainer, and maintenance involves replacing internal components without removing the valve body.
Specifications: The solenoid coil is water-resistant, meets NEMA 4 requirements, and operates at temperatures up to 180°C. It should be energized only when mounted on its corresponding solenoid tube.
Electrical Connections: Proper electrical connections are necessary, with supply circuits sized to ensure adequate voltage.
Material Lists: Detailed material lists include components made from stainless steel, neoprene, and PTFE.
Installation Procedures: Valves should be installed in accessible locations, with specific alignment and torque specifications for reassembly.

Bulletin 24-05 G - Page 3 Solenoid Function When the solenoid coil is energized the magnetic field created pulls the plunger up. This allows flow to travel to the top of the piston and collect on the top side of the piston. When a pressure differential is met the piston pushes downward forcing the plug to a full open position allowing flow to the valve outlet. When the coil is de-energized the plunger returns to its normally closed seated position, by using spring force, terminating refrigerant flow to the top of the piston. A bleed hole in the piston allows for the continuous equalization, pushing...

Regulator Pilot Assemblies Pressure Pilot Regulator Assemblies A4_ (B, S, D), A4K Adjustment Stem Range Spring Adjustment Stem Range Spring Outlet Pressure Pilot Seat Pilot Seat Inlet Pressure Flow Path Flow Path to the Power Piston The inlet pressure enters the space under the diaphragm through the inlet flow path. When the force created by the pressure exceeds the force of the range spring, the diaphragm is lifted off the pilot seat allowing pressure to enter on top of the power piston. This causes the power piston to move downward forcing the modulating plug to open and modulate to maintain...

Regulator Pilot Adjustment Stem Operation The P-Series pilot adjustment stem is a non-rising stem. This design prevents foreign material from getting lodged in the threads and has less components than Refrigerating Specialties traditional A4 adjustment stem design. following the energization or de-energization of the solenoid features. Regulators with ‘B’ feature can only be adjusted with the pilot solenoid de-energized. Regulators with the ‘S’ feature can only be adjusted with the solenoid energized. Adjustment of a set regulators’ point requires that the pressure being controlled be monitored...
