Overview: The Parker PWO is a compact and lightweight water/oil cooler designed for industrial and marine applications. It features a high cooling capacity relative to its size, utilizing corrugated channel plates for efficient heat exchange. The design ensures a highly turbulent flow, reducing clogging risks and making the cooler virtually maintenance-free.
Design and Features: The PWO cooler is adaptable to various applications, including seawater, aggressive oils, high pressure, and high temperature environments. It is constructed from stainless steel (AISI 316/304) and vacuum brazed with pure copper, ensuring durability and resistance to corrosion. The cooler is available in multiple sizes for immediate delivery and is cost-efficient and environmentally friendly.
Material and Construction: The PWO is available in different materials to suit specific needs. Mo-steel offers higher resistance to corrosion, while stainless steel versions are free from copper, suitable for corrosive environments. The PWO-M variant is extremely compact, ideal for space-constrained applications, and can be customized with different materials for compatibility with various fluids.
Applications: The PWO is suitable for a wide range of applications, including industrial processes with high chloride concentrations, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and high-temperature oil heating. It is also designed for high-pressure applications, supporting working pressures up to 45 bar, with special models available for pressures up to 120 bar.
Performance Data: The document includes detailed performance charts for various PWO models, indicating heat load and pressure drop across different oil flow rates. The standard oil type is ISO VG 46, with an oil/water flow ratio of 2/1, and specified inlet temperatures for oil and water.
Installation and Maintenance: The PWO requires minimal refrigerant volume, reducing costs and environmental impact. Installation is straightforward, with options for oversizing to accommodate future needs. Specific clamp part numbers and dimensions are provided for secure installation.
Technical Specifications: The document provides detailed dimensions, temperature ranges, working and test pressures, and weight specifications for each PWO model. The materials used for plates, brazing, and connections are specified, ensuring compatibility and performance in various environments.
Support and Distribution: Parker offers extensive support through its global network of distributors, with contact information provided for regions across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, Asia Pacific, and South America. Free calculation software is available to assist in selecting the most suitable cooler based on specific parameters.
PWO Water/oil cooler Lightweight, compact and efficient for industrial and marine applications
Open the catalog to page 1Maintenance free optimal performance The Parker PWO is a compact and lightweight water/oil cooler with a high cooling capacity for its size. The cooling elements consist of corrugated channel plates sandwiched between the front and rear cover plates. The channel plates are pressed and vacuum brazed in the same automated procedure, with rigorous standards of quality control. The unique plate design provides a highly turbulent flow throughout the cooler, which is the key to efficient cooling. This reduces the risk for clogging, which in turn makes the PWO virtually maintenance free. Endless possibilities...
Open the catalog to page 2PWO – a complete cooling system A plate water/oil cooler range to suit all needs The PWO standard range of water oil coolers is available in a wide number of sizes and is in general available for immediate off-the-shelf delivery. The basic material is stainless steel (AISI 316/304), vacuum brazed with pure copper. AISI 316 can be limited to the parts of the PWO that actually come in contact with fluid, such as the channel plates. PWO only requires small hold up volumes which equals lower cost and a more environmentallyfriendly solution. Low installation cost allows for oversizing for future requirements...
