PNEUDRI

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Compressed air systems often encounter moisture-related issues, leading to corrosion, blocked valves, and microbiological growth. Parker domnick hunter's PNEUDRI compressed air desiccant dryers address these problems by removing water vapor through adsorption, ensuring clean and dry air.
Moisture Problems in Compressed Air Systems
Moisture enters systems as atmospheric water vapor. Compression increases air temperature and its capacity to hold water vapor, which condenses into liquid upon cooling, causing corrosion and blockages if not removed.
PNEUDRI Modular Compressed Air Dryers
PNEUDRI dryers offer a compact, reliable solution with desiccant drying and modern design. They provide clean, oil-free, dry air, are energy-efficient, prevent microbiological growth, and eliminate corrosion. The modular design facilitates easy installation and maintenance, with a 10-year pressure envelope guarantee.
How PNEUDRI Works
PNEUDRI dryers use high tensile extruded aluminum columns with twin chambers filled with desiccant material. One chamber dries the air while the other regenerates using Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) or Thermal Swing Adsorption (TSA), reducing the need for complex valves and piping.
Key Features
The system features a modular aluminum design, OIL-X EVOLUTION filtration, and a unique 'Snowstorm' filling method for desiccant material, ensuring consistent dewpoint performance and preventing desiccant attrition. It allows for flexible multi-banking to increase capacity.
Air Quality Requirements
Air quality requirements vary by application, with critical applications needing ultra-dry air. PNEUDRI dryers achieve a Pressure Dew Point (PDP) of -40°C, suitable for industries like pharmaceuticals, food, and electronics.
Dryer Selection
Selecting the appropriate PNEUDRI model involves considering the system's flow rate, operating pressure, and temperature to ensure the dryer meets the required dewpoint and capacity.
Overview
This document provides technical specifications and performance data for Parker domnick hunter's multi-banked dryers, including models DAS, DME, DH, MX, and MPX. It includes correction factors for temperature, pressure, and dewpoint, and detailed technical data for each model.
Correction Factors
Temperature Correction Factor (CFT) varies with inlet temperature, ranging from 1.00 at 25°C to 2.23 at 50°C. Pressure Correction Factor (CFP) depends on inlet pressure, with values from 1.60 at 4 bar g to 0.70 at 10.5 bar g. Dewpoint Correction Factor (CFD) is 1.00 for -40°C and 1.43 for -70°C.
Dryer Performance
Each model is classified according to ISO8573-1:2010 standards, with standard and optional dewpoint classifications. For example, the DAS model has a standard dewpoint of -40°C (Class 2) and an optional dewpoint of -70°C (Class 1).
Technical Data
Specifications include operating pressures, temperatures, electrical supply options, and noise levels. For instance, the DAS model operates between 4 and 12 bar g, with a maximum ambient temperature of 55°C.
Controller Options
Controller options include SMART and ELECTRONIC DDS, offering features like power indication, fault indication, and service interval timers.
Product Selection and Flowrates
Flowrates are specified for each model, with correction factors applied for different conditions. For example, the DH 102 model has an inlet flowrate of 66 L/s.
Weights and Dimensions
Dimensions and weights are provided for each model, with the DAS1 model measuring 422 mm in height and weighing 11 kg.
Recommended Filtration
Filtration recommendations include general-purpose pre-filters and high-efficiency filters, with specific models listed for each dryer type.
Conclusion
This document serves as a comprehensive guide for selecting and operating Parker domnick hunter dryers, providing essential data for optimizing performance under various conditions.
DDS Energy Saving
The DDS Energy Management Systems optimize desiccant regeneration cycles, extending drying periods based on outlet air quality and reducing energy consumption.
PNEUDRI Options
PNEUDRI dryers are available for hazardous environments and can be equipped with Flow Control Devices (FCDs) to prevent system overflow and maintain pressure dewpoint.

Moisture is one of the major contaminants in compressed air systems. It occurs because water vapour present in the atmosphere is drawn into the compressor, where its' concentration can rise dramatically as temperature increases. Of the ten contaminants commonly found in a compressed air system, water vapour, liquid water and aerosols account for the majority of problems experienced by the compressed air user. Unseen water vapour condenses into liquid water Large volumes of atmospheric air enter the compressed air system through compressed, its temperature increases significantly, causing it to...

PNEUDRI comprises of high tensile extruded aluminium columns each containing twin chambers filled with desiccant material which dries the compressed air as it passes through. One chamber is operational (drying), while the opposite chamber is regenerating using either the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) (heatless) or Thermal Swing Adsorption (TSA) (heat regenerative) method of drying. A small volume of the dried compressed air is used to regenerate the saturated desiccant bed by expanding air from line pressure to atmospheric pressure, removing the water vapour adsorbed by the desiccant material,...

What air quality do I need? The compressed air PDP should not only be selected to prevent condensation and freezing in the piping, consideration must also be given to the requirements of the application. Typically, refrigeration dryers are employed for general purpose plant air. However, a significant amount of water vapour still remains in the compressed air, much more than is tolerable for most applications (air after an adsorption dryer with -40°C Pressure Dew Point (PDP) is around 60 times dryer than air after a refrigeration dryer with a +3°C PDP). Many critical applications require a PDP...

Selecting the right dryer for your compressed air system To achieve the degree of air quality specified by ISO8573-1:2010, a careful approach to system design, commissioning and operation must be adopted. Parker domnick hunter recommends that compressed air is treated: • Prior to entry into the distribution system • At critical usage points and applications This ensures that contamination already in the distribution system is removed. Purification equipment should be installed where the air is at the lowest possible temperature (i.e. downstream of after-coolers and air receivers). Point-of-use...

What size PNEUDRI do I require? Dryer Selection To correctly select a dryer model, the flow rate of the dryer must be adjusted for the minimum operating pressure and maximum operational temperature of the system. If the dewpoint required is different to the standard dewpoint of the dryer then the flow rate must also be adjusted for the required outlet dewpoint.
