CARBOFLOW Filter Cartridges

CARBOFLOW Filter Cartridges

CARBOFLOW Filter Cartridges

Product catalog summary
Overview: CARBOFLOW granular activated carbon cartridges are designed for effective adsorption, with options for silver impregnation to reduce bacterial growth. They are available in radial and end flow configurations, with the latter providing maximum contact time for liquid filtration.
Features and Benefits:
  • Available in 10" (250 mm) size.
  • Effective in removing taste and odor from process water.
  • Both radial and end flow variants are available.
  • Capable of filtration down to 5 microns.
Performance Characteristics: The recommended maximum flow rate is 7 L/min for radial flow and 5 L/min for end flow cartridges. Differential pressure performance is illustrated in a graph, showing optimal flow rates for liquid at 20°C and 1 cp.
Specifications:
  • Materials: Natural Carbon, Silvered Carbon, Anion Resin, Cation Resin, Mixed Bed Resin.
  • End Caps: Polypropylene.
  • Outer Shell: Porous Polyethylene.
  • Standard O-rings/Gaskets: EPDM, Nitrile, PE, Silicone, Viton.
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 60°C (158°F).
  • Recommended Changeout Differential Pressure: 2 bar (29 psid).
Installation Note: Cartridges contain carbon fines; flush the system for at least 5 minutes after installation to remove fines. In domestic use, run water for 20 seconds before cooking or drinking.
Dimensions: Outside diameter is 68 mm (2.7"), inside diameter is 27 mm (1.1").
Ordering Information: Cartridges are available in various lengths and media types, with different seal materials and flow paths.
Applications: Suitable for chlorine reduction, plating solutions, wastewater treatment, and decolourisation.
Additional Information: Parker domnick hunter maintains a policy of continuous product development and advises contacting their Process Filtration Sales Department for detailed product suitability information.

CARBOFLOW Filter Cartridges-1

CARBOFLOW granular activated carbon cartridges contain a broad band adsorbent (typically 250g/10” length). When required the carbon can be impregnated with silver to reduce bacterial build up. Radial flow elements consist of a bed of high grade activated carbon sandwiched between porous inner and outer sleeves which help prevent carbon migration. In the end flow version, the outer sleeve is porous only at the bottom, which forces the liquid to flow through the entire carbon bed (typically 350g/10” length) to exit at the top and results in the maximum contact time between liquid and carbon. CARBOFLOW shells can also be filled with ion exchange resins for use in ultra pure water systems and for precious metals recovery from plating solutions.
