SS3500 offers a cost competitive solution for EMI shielding in high volume commercial electronic applications. Gaskets consist of nickel-plated nylon wrapped around a urethane foam core. SOFT-SHIELD 3500 typically requires less than 1 lb/in (0.175 N/mm) closure force, making it effective for thin walled plastic enclosures. SOFT-SHIELD 3500 gaskets are currently available in over 90 profiles. Dimensions of offered profiles are listed on the back of this bulletin. Contact the Chomerics samples department for availability of samples. A full range of SOFT-SHIELD EMI gaskets is available for optimum solutions to different application needs. APPLICATION SOFT-SHIELD 3500 gaskets are supplied with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) for easy application. Before mounting, flange surfaces should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solvent. The gaskets can be removed for rework using a single-edged razor.
