£% PARAMOUNT I WASTE AND DUST EXTRACTION Paramount Chopper Fans also know as Cutter or Conveyor Fans are heavy duty units specifically designed to cut and convey a variety of materials. They also produce the volume and pressure of air to achieve velocities in excess of 25 m/s with 24 hours per day reliability. With records covering more than 25 years of development Paramount can supply a full range of fan spares for next day delivery from stock. Typical sizes for 180 - 550 ducting connections with 4 - 90kW drive units controlled by star delta or inverter control panels. The inlet cone can be fitted with special antiroping knives for continuous trim applications or case hardened for use in very abrasive applications. Typical noise figures are in the range of 81-85 dBLAeq however the volume and type of waste being conveyed can affect this. A range of silencers, noise suppression and soundproofing equipment can be supplied with the fan to minimise the affects felt on the shop floor. Waste enters the fan via an adjustable inlet. By varying the gap between the inlet and the impeller the fan’s cutting characteristics can be modified and the performance of the entire conveying system maximised. At the core of the Paramount Fan is the paddle blade impeller, fabricated from S275JR non-alloy, structural grade steel to EN10025. Bolted to the front edge of each paddle blade is a 6mm thick, hardened cutting blade machined in EN14A (150M19) a low carbon, manganese steel designed for impact resistance. The impeller is mounted on a large diameter shaft, specifically designed to handle the harsh environments the impeller encounters. The shaft is located in a cast iron bearing housing fitted with heavy duty, sealed for life bearings minimising maintenance time.
