The smallest Spiralift model is designed for lighter and shorter lifting requirements. This newest addition to the family provides increased flexibility and versatility in tight spaces. This ND6 comes with an integrated worm drive, which allows for direct coupling with either a motor or drive shaft without the use of chains or belts. The ND6 allows for reduced noise, lower cost, a simplified drive arrangement and quicker installation. Because of its single-part configuration, the ND6 model is considered maintenance-free. It is built to run until replacement is required at the end of its...

MINIMUM LOAD REQUIREMENT - HD9 The minimum load requirement for the HD9 model is the same as the ND9 model. Refer to the charts of the ND9 model to determine the minimum load to apply to the Spiralift as a function of the travel. SPIRALIFT LIFE CALCULATION - HD9 The Spiralift life for the HD9 model can be calculated using the ND9 life charts. The life of the HD9 can be considered to be 25% more than the ND9 model due to better lubrication conditions and stronger internal bearings. The calculation for the number of cyles remains the same, once we used the charts for the ND9 : HD9 Life...

The 9 inch diameter (230 mm) modelour most popular to dateחis compact and can rise up to 20 feet (6 m) when fully extended. It can carry loads that will satisfy most applications as it can be multiplied until the load per Spiralift is within its capacity (see charts). Thousands of ND9 Spiralifts are currently being used worldwide. This model is usually installed in relatively clean areas or can be protected by bellow skirts if required. TECHNICAL PARAMETERS - ND9 Column diameter 9 in 230 mm Maximum lifting capacity 10,000 lb 4450 daN Maximum static capacity 22,500 lb 1 0 000 daN Maximum...

MINIMUM LOAD REQUIREMENT - ND9 A minimum required load (MRL) ensures the integrity of the column under normal use and under moderate to strong lateral acceleration. The MRL also ensures that an acceptable lateral force will not affect the Spiralift's supporting function. The charts below show the MRL for ND9 Spiralifts as a function of the column stroke, which must be taken into consideration when designing Spiralift applications. These figures are for preliminary studies only and should be verified with PACO's Engineering Department for your specific applications. For example, these...

Information RECOMMENDED USE Spiralifts are generally used to lift evenly distributed loads. They must be used in clean industrial areas where they are isolated from excessive dust, humidity and dirt. The pit or lift area must remain clean at all times or have the appropriate protection to ensure reliability and safety. Spiralifts can lift very large loads. However, because of their size, they do so at much slower speeds than closed elevators or hydraulic lift tables. Increasing the speed increases the required power and therefore significantly increases the "closed" height of the system....

Minimum Required Load (MRL) Dtermine whether your total load divided by the number of Spiralifts meets the MRL for each Spiralift. Additional dead weight may be required for small lifts with high travels. Contact us for solutions in case of problems. Undertravel and Overtravel Verify that under and overtravel meet the recommendations given in the appropriate sections above. The under/overtravel recommendations are relative to speed and travel. Spiralifts don't have mechanical stops. Driving-Sprocket or Input Shaft Height The higher the stroke, the greater the retracted height and chain of...

SPIRALIFT SYSTEMS - DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS When designing a system with Spiralift, some design considrations must be kept in mind in order to make sure the system will meet the specified durability, stability, performance and safety. Make sure you fully understand these considerations before attempting to design a Spiralift system. PACO has technical bulletins that can help you during the design process. A formal training may be required for some application, especially if the lifting device is to be used with operators on or close to the system. There are numerous design considerations, for...

GUIDING REQUIREMENT The lift must be equipped with a guidance system. Lateral force on the Spiralift must be avoided in order to prevent band separation, although the bands are designed to support reasonable lateral force. The Spiralift does not function under tension. Excessive eccentric load may cause tilting problems on multiple Spiralift tables. Do not exceed the maximum point load specified. If the lift has to be moved, it must be handled with the locking hooks provided or be supported from underneath. Pulling on the table floor or top deck could cause damage. INSTALLATION The...
