OxyGuard Ocean D.O. Probe

Product catalog summary
General Information
The OxyGuard Ocean D.O. Probe is a small-size, membrane-covered galvanic cell designed for long-term dissolved oxygen measurements in aquatic environments such as ponds, lakes, and oceans. It can operate at depths up to 2000 meters, with a special version available for depths up to 7000 meters. The probe features a pressure compensation system and built-in temperature compensation, making it insensitive to pressure changes and hydrogen sulphide.

Technical Information
The probe outputs a millivolt signal proportional to the oxygen pressure it detects. It is available in different configurations, including a standard version with an M18 x 1 mm thread mount and 50 cm leads, and a stand-alone version with a 3m cable. The probe is delivered with spare membranes, o-rings, and electrolyte.

Technical Advantages
  • High stability and low maintenance requirements.
  • Unlimited theoretical lifetime with easy membrane replacement.
  • Accurate measurements with low water movement.
  • Galvanic type with true zero and built-in temperature compensation.
  • Not sensitive to hydrogen sulphide.
  • Available as a stand-alone probe or for integration into exploratory devices.
  • Anti-fouling probe protector available.

Specifications
  • Output Signal: 10-40 mV in air.
  • Useful range: 0-600% saturation dissolved oxygen.
  • Repeatability: +/- 1% under same conditions.
  • Response time: 90% of step change within 10 seconds at 20°C.
  • Temperature range: -5 to +45°C.
  • Pressure range: 0-200 bar.

Usage and Considerations
The probe should be connected to an amplifier with at least 2 megohm input impedance and galvanic isolation. Calibration is required, which can be performed as a single adjustment in air. The probe should be protected from mechanical shock and damage, and deposits should be wiped from the membrane as necessary.

OxyGuard Ocean D.O. Probe-1

OxyGuard Ocean D.O. Probe Small-Size D.O. Probe for Stationary Measurements in Ponds, Lakes and Oceans Stand-Alone Probe. Probe for incorporation into multiple parameter deep-sea probe system O-ring here for measurement O-ring here for transport 23 mm dia. General Information This small-size version of the standard OxyGuard dissolved oxygen probe is a membrane-covered galvanic cell that generates its own voltage. The Ocean D.O. Probe is designed for long-term measurements in ponds, lakes and oceans at depths up to 2000 m. A special version for depths up to 7000 m is available on request. Due to an ingenious pressure compensation system the probe is insensitive to pressure changes, and, as with all OxyGuard dissolved oxygen probes, it has built-in temperature compensation. It is, unlike some other types of dissolved oxygen probe, NOT sensitive to hydrogen sulphide. The Ocean D.O. Probe delivers a millivolt output directly proportional to the oxygen pressure that it senses. The connected electronics can therefore be quite straightforward. The Ocean can be delivered in a mounting configuration to suit the user. The standard version has an M18 x 1 mm thread mount and 50 cm leads for moulding into a multi-parameter sonde as an OEM device. The stand-alone version is also available, this has 3m cable unless otherwise ordered. Please note that for profiling measurements and measurements using moving probes the DO Profile probe should be used.
