General Description: The document describes the Series TF torque motors, which are water-cooled PM
synchronous motors. These motors feature a ring-shaped geometry with a hollow shaft and rare-earth magnets, providing direct drive with high torque at low speeds. They are compact, robust, low-maintenance, and produce low noise.
Specifications: The rated voltage ranges between 330V and 360V, depending on the stator windings. The motors are designed for continuous operation with variable speed and power ratings. The field weakening speed is 1.5 to 2 times the rated speed, depending on the motor type and converter qualities. The maximum mechanical speed is specified, and the design for high-speed applications may differ from the standard.
Mechanical Dimensions: Water connections vary by model, with sizes ranging from 1/2 inch to 1 inch. The number of fastening bolts can vary, and enhanced housing is available upon request.
Cooling Systems: The motors are liquid-cooled, with a standard coolant inlet temperature of 25°C. Higher temperatures require power reduction. The cooling system includes a copper coolant circuit, and anti-corrosion protection is not necessary. Water flow rate, pressure, and pipe fittings are specified according to the table or nameplate.
Thermal Class and Protection: The motors are classified under thermal class F according to DIN EN 60034 / VDE 0530, with a winding temperature of 105 K above ambient. They are designed for converter operation with specific peak voltage and pulse rise time requirements. Temperature monitoring is standard with 3PTC+2KTY sensors, and other sensors are optional. The enclosure protection ranges from IP23 to IP54.
Feedback Systems and Mounting Options: Various feedback systems are available to determine rotor position and motor speed, including hollow shaft encoders and excentric mounting with belts. Brakes and gears can also be mounted upon request.
