Optoelettronica Italia Sri, also known as Optoi Microelectronics, was founded in Trento (ITALY) in 1995, following a successful spinoff initiative from the Institute of scientific and technological research named FBK, and located in Trento as well. Optoi still has an important and strategic collaboration with such Institute regarding applied research, in the field of technological production as well as the design and testing of microelectronic devices, both standard and customized. Since its origin, Optoi centred its core business on microelectronic packaging, providing a qualified and appreciated competence matured in a rapid growth. Optoi is currently involved in partnerships with European research institutes, Universities and international Silicon Wafer Foundries. This has ensured the sense of trust from multinationals and SMEs in Italy and abroad, in the field of technological and productive innovation. Besides, Optoi designs and manufactures customized microelectronic devices, on specific requests in accordance or on behalf of customer Companies. Optoi makes use of proprietary automated assembly lines for the production of standard micro-components, in order to offer a qualified service of microelectronic assembly to the customer Companies, including testing activities. Besides the development and continuous improvement of microelectronic packaging, Optoi designs and produces silicon sensors, MEMS devices, microsystems and smart electronic systems with application in the industrial, environmental, biomedical, green fields or as component replacement.
