General Description
The LDS-1000 Laser Doppler Scale (LDS) is designed for high-speed, high-accuracy, and long-range positioning in various applications such as CNC machine tools and precision stages. It is based on the Laser Doppler Displacement Meter (LDDM) and offers features like easy installation, alignment, and high accuracy. The system is compatible with mainstream controller feedback systems and is resistant to dirt, oil, and hostile environments.
Higher Reliability
The LDS is built to withstand harsh machine tool environments and has no moving parts, reducing wear and tear. It comes with a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
Quality Assurance
The LDS adheres to industry standards such as Total Quality Management (TQM) and Mil-Spec 45662. The laser is traceable to N.I.S.T.
Precision in Motion
The system offers high accuracy with automatic environmental compensation for factors like air temperature and barometric pressure. It boasts a laser stability check better than 0.1 PPM, system accuracy of 1.0 PPM, and resolution up to 0.002 µm, with a range up to 50m.
Linear Motor Functions
The LDS enhances mechanical stability and servo stiffness, isolates orthogonal disturbances, and offers high resolution and bandwidth. It supports centerline mounting to reduce Abbe error and improve accuracy.
Applications- 2-Axis Applications: Suitable for X-Y stages, PC board drilling, grinding, IC fabrication, and projectors.
- 3-Axis Applications: Ideal for precision machining centers and CMMs, offering improved accuracy and minimal installation time.
Laser Doppler Scale Characteristics
The LDS is characterized by high accuracy, speed, reliability, ruggedness, long range, compactness, and low maintenance.
Standard Configuration
The standard setup includes a laser head (L-109), processor box (P-108AC), 12 mm retroreflector (R-102A), and a 4m cable set (LD-21R).
Options
Available options include reference markers, automatic compensation sensors, extended range capabilities, and various beam benders and environmental protections.
Available Interfaces
The system supports AQuadB square waves, up/down pulses, sinusoidal output, and 32-bit parallel output.
