HT326 HTST/UHT Pilot Plant The OMVE HT326 pilot plant is a HTST/UHT system designed to process products with high viscosities and/or large particles in continuous flow. The HT326 provides R&D departments a flexible and reliable unit to mimic the operation of full-sized production plants, facilitating the scale-up process, formulation, product optimization, shelf-life studies, organoleptic analysis and more. The product is pumped from the product feed hopper or external connection to the scraped surface heat exchangers. In the heat exchangers the product is heated to the set temperature. After the heating sections, a holding time can be applied. The product is sequentially cooled by the cooling sections. A backpressure valve keeps the system pressurized to prevent boiling during processing. Three stages can be distinguished during operation: sterilization (SIP), production, and cleaning (CIP).
