Material Overview:
Fluoroloy® A21 is a proprietary custom PTFE material, characterized by its black color and suitability for back-up rings. It performs excellently in steam and water under severe conditions, offering improved creep and extrusion resistance at elevated temperatures. It is similar to Fluoroloy® A16 but with increased hardness and wear resistance.

- Compressive Stress @ 1% Strain: 14.5 MPa (2,100 psi) (ASTM D695)
- Compressive Modulus: 1,014 MPa (147,000 psi) (ASTM D695)
- Deformation under load, 2000 psi & RT: 4.5% (ASTM D621)
Thermal Properties:- Linear Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (Mold Direction): 11.7x10-5 mm/mm/°C (6.50x10-5 in/in/°F) (ASTM D696)
- Linear Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (Cross Direction): 11.3x10-5 mm/mm/°C (6.28x10-5 in/in/°F) (ASTM D696)
Tribological Properties:- Coefficient of Friction: 0.10 (ASTM D3702)
Notes:- All testing is performed at room temperature unless otherwise specified.
- Compression Strength was measured at 1% Strain.
- Deformation Under Load was tested at 13.8 MPa (2,000 psi) for 24 hours.
