The OMG TR 70 ac is the ideal three wheels tow tractor to handle trailers up to 7.000 kg. It is extremely compact and easy to drive and it can make a 180° conversion in less than 3.000 mm with a reduced turning radius. It is able to operate in tight spaces thanks to the extremely light steering. The manual coupling (3 positions) is visible from the operator’s seat and it is easily accessible. As option automatic couplings are available, also with the possibility of easy coupling/decoupling of trailers with remote unlocking system from the operator’s position. The handling of several trailers together, provides quick materials handling operations and restriction of the running time in the working process. Another advantage is the availability of special couplings for the handling of every trailer type. As option the backward/forward push buttons (“backing” system) to facilitate the trailer coupling operations. Chassis The “shock-resistant” chassis is manufactured with high thickness quality steel frames to grant the best strength and stability and allows to obtain the best torque performances offered by the ac motor. The covers are made of polyethylene which resists corrosion, impact and abrasion. The rear axle, manufactured with integrated traction, is assembled parallel to the axle of the rear wheels and it is fixed to the chassis with silent-blocks. The compact dimension of the unit is given by a low load centre of gravity which ensures high and safe road stability. The traction battery is installed in the lower part of the body between the axles to give the greatest possible stability. The steering wheel has the same dimension of the traction wheel , it is assembled on big diameter coupling balls and it is suspended to grant the best driving comfort. The pneumatic or superelastic tires (as option) allow to operate both in indoor and outdoor applications. Operator’s driving position Particular care is given to the ergonomics of the driving place: • wide steps on both sides for effortless entry and exit of the operator from the vehicle, • central position of the seat (equipped with “man on board” system ) which offers a wide space to the operator’s legs, • easy and accessible driving controls, • frontal storage area positioned on the side part of the steering wheel and back wide storage, • wide pedals for acceleration and braking, • “check control” digital dashboard with battery charge indicator, hour counter, speed indication and troubleshooting check system, • possibility to program the driving parameters. Drive 48V drive motor using power and reliable ac technology ensuring high performances, significant energy saving, extended operating times and low maintenance through the absence of carbon brushes. It is equipped with an encoder, thermal probes and negative electromagnetic parking brake. Powerful and smooth acceleration to top speed. The wear-free electric braking is automatically achieved by releasing the accelerator pedal and on reverse of the direction of travel. When the accelerator pedal is released, electrical energy is fed back into the battery. Automotive-like service brake with brake pedal and pump, acting on all the wheels. Automatic and electromagnetic parking and emergency brake electronically controlled.
