Product catalog summary
Specifications:
The TGh series resistors are available in 120 and 200 Watt SOT227 packages. They feature thick film power with nickel-plated copper heat sinks and contacts. The substrate is made of Al203 (96%), and the molding compound is a high-performance epoxy compliant with UL94-V0 standards. Terminal nuts are made from American standard 303 stainless steel. The resistance range is from 0.1Ω to 1MΩ with a tolerance of ±5%, and other tolerances are available upon request. The temperature coefficient is ±250ppm at +105°C relative to +25°C. The maximum working voltage is 500V, with a power rating of 120W at 85°C. The resistors can withstand partial discharge up to 2,000Vrms/80 pC and have a dielectric strength of up to 4,000V DC against the ground. The heat resistance to the cooling plate is Rth <0.35 K/W, and the capacitance/mass is 45pF. The working temperature range is -55°C to +155°C. Maximum torque for the base plate is 1.5 Nm, and for contacts, it is 1.3 Nm with M4 screws (not included).

Derating:
The derating is specified as 2.86W/°K (0.35°K/W). A graph is provided to illustrate the relationship between the bottom of the base plate temperature and the percent rated power.

Applications:
Due to their non-inductive design, these resistors are suitable for high-frequency and pulse-load applications. They are designed for direct mounting onto a heatsink and are commonly used in variable speed drives, power supplies, control devices, telecom, robotics, motor controls, and other switching designs. Best results are achieved using a thermal transfer compound with a heat conductivity better than 1W/mK.

Performance Data:
The resistors have been tested for moisture resistance, thermal shock, terminal strength, and vibration, following MIL-Std-202 standards. They have a life expectancy of 20 years (120,000 hours) with an operating failure rate of 8.3 x 10^-7 fail/hour under specified conditions.

Ordering Information:
The document provides dimensions and standard part numbers for ordering. The product is designed for use with proper heatsinking, and the maximum base plate temperature must be monitored to establish the power rating. A thermocouple should be attached to the side of the base plate for accurate temperature measurement.

Configurations:
The TGh series offers different configurations and special options, including resistance values and wattage options, with RoHS compliance.
