Axial Lead 10 Series

Axial Lead 10 Series

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications for Ohmite's 10 Series Axial Wire Element Current Sense Resistors, designed for current sensing applications with high accuracy and temperature stability.
Specifications:
  • Material: Terminals are made of solder-plated copper or copper-clad steel, with a RoHS solder composition of 96% Sn, 3.5% Ag, 0.5% Cu. Encapsulation is done using a silicone molding compound.
  • Electrical: Standard tolerance is ±1%, with a resistance range from 0.005Ω to 0.100Ω. The power rating is based on a 25°C free air rating, with an overload capacity of 5 times the rated wattage for 5 seconds. Dielectric withstanding voltage is 1000 VRMS for 3 and 5 watt resistors, and 500 VRMS for 2 watt resistors. Insulation resistance is not less than 1000MΩ, and thermal EMF is less than ±2µV/°C.
  • Temperature: Operating temperature range is -55°C to 275°C, with derating linearly from 100% at +25°C to 0% at +275°C.
Features:
  • Ideal for current sensing applications with low inductance (non-inductive below 0.25Ω).
  • RoHS compliant products are available, indicated by an 'E' suffix in the part number.
  • Four-terminal design for Kelvin configuration, reducing temperature coefficient of resistance and self-heating drift.
Ordering Information: Part numbers are structured based on ohm value, tolerance, wattage, terminal type, and RoHS compliance.
Dimensions: Detailed dimensions are provided for different series wattages and ohm values, with specific measurements for length, diameter, and lead gauge.
Graphical Data: A graph illustrates the temperature coefficient of resistance for different wattages, showing performance across a range of temperatures.

Ohmite’s Four-terminal Current-sense Resistors are specifically designed for low-resistance applications requiring the highest accuracy and temperature stability. This four-terminal version of Ohmite’s 10 Series resistor is specially designed for use in a Kelvin configuration, in which a current is applied through two opposite terminals and sensing voltage is measured across the other two terminals . The Kelvin configuration enables the resistance and temperature coefficient of the terminals to be effectively eliminated. The four terminal design also results in a lower temperature coefficient of resistance and lower self-heating drift which may be experienced on two-terminal resistors. The requirement to connect to the terminals at precise test points is eliminated, allowing for tighter tolerancing on the end application. o r d e r i n g i n f o r m at i o n Wattage Terminals Blank = 2 terminals P = 4 terminals RoHS Compliant Tolerance Ohm Value F = 1% Example: D= 0.5% R050= 0.05 Check product availability at www.ohmite.com 1-866-9-OHMITE • Int’l 1-847-258-0300 • Fax 1-847-574-7522 • www.ohmite.com • [email protected]
