Overview
OBLF's ASM 1800 is an automatic grinding machine designed for the preparation of recurring sample types for spectrometer analysis. Developed by the same company that produces the spectrometer, it ensures compliance with all necessary requirements while maintaining a favorable price-performance ratio.

Machine Features
The ASM 1800 includes a high-performance belt grinder with an integrated sample-handling system for correct positioning and removal. The grinding bed is abrasion-proof and non-wearing. It is equipped with a spark extinguisher and a dust remover with filters for metal particles.

Grinding Programs
The machine allows for the definition and storage of three different grinding programs for various sample materials or depths. These programs can be selected via a switch to initiate the automatic grinding process. Additionally, the ASM 1800 can be used for manual grinding, which is beneficial for samples with differing geometries.

Control and Specifications
The machine is controlled via SIMATIC S7-200 and allows for the specification and storage of grinding programs. Grinding time is dependent on the measured grinding depth, and grinding pressure can be optimized for the sample material. It supports variable grinding speeds and is suitable for both coarse and fine grinding jobs. The grinding belt is monitored for wear.

Integration and Flexibility
The ASM 1800 can be integrated into a fully automated analysis line through an interface with the analysis process computer, allowing for the definition and use of numerous grinding programs.
