NYLACAST NYLUBE

NYLACAST NYLUBE

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Nylube was introduced by Nylacast in 1989 as an advancement from Oilon, known for its exceptional performance as a bearing material. It is recognized for its supreme wear resistance and is a significant development in new materials by Nylacast.
Specifications
Nylube features a combined liquid/solid lubricant system, achieving a low coefficient of friction of 0.08, which is lower than most polymers available. It offers improved wear resistance compared to other lubricated cast nylon grades and maintains excellent physical properties. It is suitable for dry running bearing applications across a wide range of loads, speeds, and temperatures (up to 120ºC).
Benefits
  • Outstanding wear and abrasion resistance
  • Improved PV characteristics and operating temperature capability
  • Low coefficient of friction and enhanced stick/slip capabilities
  • Consistent wear performance and excellent dimensional stability
  • Reduced water absorption and excellent chemical resistance
  • FDA compliant for direct food contact applications
Typical Applications
  • Wear pads, stabilizers, stoppers, pulleys, L-shape wear pads, sheaves, rollers, sliders, bushes, slide pads, bearings, gears, winches, bespoke components
Industry Users
  • Construction, aerospace, transport, shipbuilding, food and drink packaging, pharmaceuticals, steel mills, quarrying and mining, cranes, agriculture, recycling, and waste management
Availability
Nylube is available as standard plate, rod, and in various tube configurations with different lengths.
Performance Comparison
The document includes a comparison chart showing Nylube's superior wear rate, maximum continuous service temperature, and coefficient of friction compared to PA6, MOLY, and OILON.

NYLACAST NYLUBE-1

NYLACAST NYLUBE Nylube was introduced into the Nylacast product range in 1989 as a logical progression to Oilon with already outstanding performance as a bearing material. Since that time, it has proved to be Nylacast’s supreme wear resisting grade and one of the most important developments from Nylacast in new materials. Nylube contains a combined liquid/solid lubricant system which allows for a coefficient of friction as low as 0.08. This is below that of almost any other polymer available at present. Nylube has substantially improved the wear resistance abilities compared to that of any other currently available lubricated grade of cast nylon, whilst retaining excellent physical property characteristics. The material is particularly suited to dry running bearing applications throughout a wide load, speed and temperature range (up to 120ºC). Like Oilon, Nylube is suitable for use in applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
