Product Overview:
DART CLEAR 8500 is a high solid (HS) clearcoat with special scratch resistance (SR) additives. It features modern air-dry resins that allow for quick drying and operational hardness, with polishing possible after 1 hour at 20°C. It is recommended for Smart/Spot Repair and offers excellent weather and UV resistance.

Hardener:
The recommended hardener is HARD 90-850, available in standard form.

Substrates:

Mixing Ratio:
Volume: 2 parts DART CLEAR 8500 to 1 part HARD 90-850. VOC content is 525 g/l, compliant with EU Directive 2004/42/CE.

Application:

Viscosity: 13-15 seconds at 20°C (DIN 4)
Application: 1 full layer, flash off if necessary, then apply a second full layer
Nozzle size: 1.2-1.4 mm
Pressure: 1.7-2.2 bar
Potlife: 30 minutes at 20°C with HARD 90-850

Hardener Selection:
For spot repair (1-2 parts), use HARD 90-850 across all temperature ranges. For middle-sized repairs (3-5 parts), HARD 90-850 is recommended only for 15-20°C.

Drying Time:

Dust free: 10 minutes at 20°C, 3 minutes at 50°C
Operating hardness: 1 hour at 20°C, 10 minutes at 50°C plus 30 minutes at 20°C
Final hardness: 2 days at 20°C, 10 minutes at 50°C plus 2 days at 20°C

Safety and Storage:
Use personal safety equipment and refer to the safety data sheet. The shelf life of DART CLEAR 8500 is 24 months at 20°C, and HARD 90-850 is 18 months at 20°C. For professional use only.
