480 series

480 series

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Nova 480 Series is a continuous process analyzer designed for measuring carbon monoxide (CO) levels in process gas streams, with a range of 0-40,000 PPM. It uses an electrochemical detector and offers various configurations and options for different industrial applications.
Features: The analyzer includes features such as high/low gas alarms, low flow alarms, diagnostic alarms, and multiple output options (4-20mA, RS232, RS485, MODBUS®, Ethernet). It also offers a cabinet purge system for hazardous areas, automatic calibration with a touch screen LCD, and a cold weather package for operation down to -5°F (-20°C).
Specifications: The detection method is a customer-replaceable electrochemical 'fuel cell' CO sensor with a lifespan of 1-3 years. Available ranges include 0-100 to 0-40,000 PPM CO, with a resolution of 1 PPM up to 2,000 PPM and 10 PPM for higher ranges. The analyzer has an accuracy of ±1% of full scale and a response time of 20-30 seconds to 90% step change. It operates within an ambient temperature range of 32-122°F (0-50°C), extendable to lower temperatures with the cold weather package.
Models and Configurations: The 480 Series offers several mounting configurations, including wall-mounted and rack-mounted options, with explosion-proof versions available. Specific models include the 480N4, 480N4X, and 480RM, each with different enclosure ratings and features.
Applications and Limitations: The analyzer is suitable for continuous low-range CO analysis but is not compatible with certain background gases like hydrogen. It requires a small amount of oxygen in the sample or metered into it. Users should consult Nova for specific applications.
Contact Information: Nova Analytical Systems is located in Niagara Falls, NY, USA, and Hamilton, ON, Canada. Contact details include phone numbers and email addresses for sales inquiries.

480 series-2

DESCRIPTION The Nova 480 Series represent Nova's best value in continuous low range CO process analysis. This analyzer utilizes a long-life electrochemical 'fuel cell' sensor for the detection of CO in process gases. The sensor produces a small millivoltage output which is directly proportional to the CO detected. The output is then amplified and displayed on a digital readout meter and recorder output. The 480 can be supplied with a sampling pump or pressure regulator to suit most applications. MODELS There are seven types of mounting configurations available: • 480N4 - Wall mounted NEMA4 (IP65)...
