402AS

Product catalog summary
Applications
The 402AS Automatic Sequencer is designed to allow a single Nova gas analyzer to be shared across multiple sample points, ranging from 3 to 24. It is suitable for use in environments such as mushroom farms, greenhouses, flue gas ducts, and landfill wells. The sequencer can be controlled locally or via a customer's PLC.
Features
  • Supports 3 to 24 sample points using solenoid valves.
  • Reduces cost per sample point for multi-zone analyses.
  • Digital display shows active sample point and time remaining.
  • Selectable sample time and stream identification.
  • Manual override with sample hold and skip feature for unwanted samples.
  • Built-in by-pass pump keeps non-active samples fresh.
Options
  • Relay contacts for each sample point.
  • Available without micro-controller for PLC connection (Model 401S).
Description
The 402AS uses microprocessor-based timing and solenoid valves for each sample point, with a by-pass pump to maintain fresh samples. It allows skipping of inactive points and manual holding of samples. The 401S model is a lower-cost option for customers using their own control systems.
Models
  • Model 402AS-XX-YY: Includes Nova-provided microprocessor control.
  • Model 401S-XX-ZZ: Uses customer-provided control.
XX indicates the number of sample points, YY the cabinet style, and ZZ the voltage for solenoid values.
Specifications
  • Detection Method: Sequences sample streams to external analyzers.
  • Sample Range: 3-24 samples.
  • Ambient Temperature: 40 to 104°F (4 to 40°C), with optional outdoor package for wider range.
  • Power: 115VAC 60Hz, with other voltages available.
  • Output Options: 5V TTL or contact closure.

402AS-1

APPLICATIONS Allows a single Nova gas analyzer to be time shared over many sample points. It can be controlled locally or by the customer's PLC. Applications include mushroom farms, multiple greenhouses, flue gas ducts, landfill wells, and many others. FEATURES • Available from 3 to 24 sample points selected by solenoid valves • Greatly reduces cost per sample point for multiple-zone analyses • Digital display of active sample point with time remaining countdown • Selectable sample time • Provides sample stream identification • Manual override with sample hold • Skip feature allows unwanted samples to be skipped over. • All samples continuously drawn into sequencer by built-in by-pass pump to keep non-active samples 'fresh'; only active sample point goes to analyzer, the rest are vented. OPTIONS • Relay contacts for each sample point • Available without micro-controller for connection to customer's PLC (Model 401S) NOVA ANALYTICAL SYSTEMS www.nova-gas.com Sample Lines from Monitored Zones 402AS Autosequencer Wallmount Enclosure 402AS Autosequencer Rackmount Enclosure Selected Sample Stream Sent to Gas Analyzer (sold separately)

402AS-2

DESCRIPTION The 402AS Automatic Sequencer allows a single Nova gas analyzer to be time shared between 3 to 24 sampling points. This greatly reduces the cost per sampling point for multiple-zone analyses. The 402AS consists of microprocessor based timing, a solenoid valve for each point and a by-pass pump. The by-pass pump continuously draws on all sample points so as to keep fresh sample always available for analysis. Inactive sample points can simply be skipped over. Also, the timer can be stopped on any one point and held there for as long as desired with a simple key press. A small keypad...
