The product is made from SMO 254 material, an austenitic stainless steel designed for extreme environments where standard stainless steel is insufficient. It offers maximum resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, performing well under heavy mechanical loads. Each clamp is date stamped for traceability.
This steel is particularly suited for high chloride environments such as brackish water and seawater. All parts are produced from SMO 254 material, also known as SS 2378 / EN 1.4547 / S31254. The minimum time to red rust is over 4000 hours.
The ABA Original SMO 12 MM clamps have a width of 12 mm and various clamping ranges, with a thickness of 0.8 mm. The product numbers are provided for each size range, from 15-24 mm (9/16-15/16 in.) to 277-307 mm (10 15/16-12 1/16 in.).
