Design and Benefits

• The screw design features lead changes that facilitate the transition from the feed zone to the barrier section, preventing choking of the solids channel.
• Increased melting efficiency is achieved by eliminating solids bed breakup.
• The design allows for a higher melting rate due to increased exposure of the solids bed to the barrel surface.
• Improved stability is ensured by eliminating channel plugging at the barrier section entrance.
• Enhanced mixing in the melt channel is achieved as melted material undergoes moderate shear over the barrier flight.
