Process Sentry™ Material Diagnostics Controller Features and Benefits Simple, easy-to-use design provides immediate recognition of dispensing process faults for reduced rejects and less downtime. Dual mode operation offers the flexibility to use the controller with either on/off dispensing modules or the Nordson CP Gun. Optional data logging capability for retrieving data that can improve quality control, enhance productivity and help determine optimum material usage. Application flexibility allows the controller to be used with a wide variety of Nordson material dispensing systems to meet almost any application requirement. The Nordson Process Sentry material diagnostics controller provides automotive manufacturers with a simple, accurate system for monitoring a wide range of functions during the material dispensing process. With the Process Sentry controller, operators can: Use 32 different part ID’s Accommodate various Nordson dispense systems for on/off and variable control Verify material volume Verify pressure levels Monitor volume and pressure set points Monitor dispensed volume with high and low alarms via flow meter, gear meter pump or linear encoder Monitor material temperature Optional features include: Bubble detection Data logging Dual Mode Operation In the on/off dispensing module mode, the Process Sentry controller works solely as a monitoring system, indicating alarm conditions to the operator or to other automation devices. The controller is designed to monitor the dispensed volume of material and the pressures against programmed values, and indicate alarms when parameters are outside the cycle’s respective high and low limits.

The controller’s functions expand in the CP Gun mode. In addition to monitoring volume and pressure and indicating alarm conditions, the Process Sentry controller also guides the operation of the dispensing module in CP Gun mode. Bead size and purge controls are included within the controller to assure precision dispensing and accurate operation.
