General Information Airless Nozzles Introduction Nordson Corporation manufactures three basic types of nozzles for airless guns: Dome, Cross-Cut®, and Conical. The Dome and Cross-Cut nozzles produce a at spray fan pattern, while the conical nozzles produce either a solid or hollow cone shaped pattern. These are all high quality carbide nozzles which provide excellent abrasion resistance and superior performance. Turbulence plates (T-plates) and restrictors, which provide increased atomization at lower pressures and reduce nozzle wear, are available for use with most of these nozzles....

General Information Figure 1 - Cross-Cut® and Dome Nozzle Fan Patterns Dome Nozzles are available in the following congurations: • Dome C & CA Electrostatic (Standard & Close Tolerance) - are for use only on the Model C & CA Manual and Automatic Electrostatic Airless Spray Guns. Close Tolerance versions are used where extremely accurate control of the uid ow rate is required. General Information • Dome Flange Nozzles - are for general use in a wide variety of applications. They have a ow rate tolerance of ± 5%. They are available in the widest variety of ow rates and pattern widths and can be used with most automatic and manual airless guns with ange type mounts. Dome Flange Close Tolerance (CT) Nozzles - are used where extremely accurate control of the uid ow rate is required. Their ow rate tolerance is less than ± 2%. General Information Cross-Cut® Nozzles Cross-Cut nozzles are available in a wide variety of different types for use in almost any application. These nozzles have many advantages over standard dome type nozzles, including: wider fan patterns, lower ow rates, improved atomization at lower pressures, better resistance to plugging, and longer life. Cross-Cut nozzles are available in the following congurations: • Cross-Cut C & CA Electrostatic Gun Nozzles - are used exclusively with the Models C and CA guns, in a variety of manual and automatic airless electrostatic applications. With an adapter, they can be used on any gun that uses a standard ange mount. Cross-Cut A7AA Nozzles - are used only on the Model A7AA Air Assisted Airless guns.
