Operation
The system operates with exterior and interior signal lights. When a trailer is in position, the dock attendant activates the restraining hook, which engages the trailer's rear impact guard. If engagement is successful, the inside light turns green, allowing dock leveler operation. If not, an alarm alerts the operator, and alternate safety procedures are required. The hook provides over 35,000 pounds of restraining force and adjusts with trailer movement during loading and unloading. After use, the restraint is stored by pressing a release button.

Construction
The hook is made from 50,000 psi yield material and painted bright yellow for visibility. The hydraulic cylinder features high tensile micro-honed tubing, a hard chrome plated rod, guide bearings, and high-pressure low-friction seals. Hydraulic hoses are high-pressure SAE 00R2 with factory crimped fittings. The control panel is NEMA 12 rated with shielded push button controls and a PLC solid-state controller.

Installation
The PIT-HOOK™ Model PH-3000 is factory assembled and tested before shipment. It is mounted in the pit below the dock leveler and behind the building wall, with signs, control panel, and optional components installed according to the manual.

Communication
Safety equipment includes red and green lights inside and outside, with operating instructions for the dock attendant and a large outside sign with instructions for the truck driver.

Options/Accessories
Available options include a keyed override control, LED lights, a dock leveler stored interlock switch, and integrated LOGI-SMART™ control systems.

Warranty
Nordock guarantees the PIT-HOOK™ Series will perform as described for one year from receipt, with structural and hydraulic components guaranteed for five years, subject to limitations on liability.
