Introduction: This document provides essential tips for the installation of Nordfab’s Quick-Fit ducting system, known for its speed and efficiency. The guide ensures a smooth, quick, and safe installation process.
Step One: Shipment Verification
Ensure your shipment is complete and undamaged upon receipt. Inspect all boxes for damage before signing the delivery receipt. Note any discrepancies or damage to facilitate future claims.
Step Two: Understanding Packing Documents
Locate the packing list before opening boxes to avoid losing or damaging parts. Contact your dealer for any issues with your order, keeping all documentation handy.
Step Three: Preparing for Installation
Understand the system layout as designed. Follow local codes and ensure the building can support the ducting system. Contact the system designer if the layout is unclear.
Step Four: Laying Out the Duct
Lay out the system on the floor to ensure all parts are present and match the packing list. This step helps identify missing parts early.
Step Five: Using the Quick-Fit Sleeve
The Quick-Fit Sleeve allows for flexible installation without precise measurements. Follow the detailed steps to cut and fit the pipe, ensuring a secure and adjustable connection.
Step Six: Supporting Your Ductwork
Ensure ducting is properly supported according to local codes. Consider the weight of fully clogged ducting when planning support structures.
Step Seven: Pre-Stretching Clamps
Pre-stretch clamps to ease the process of sealing connections. This ensures a tight seal and simplifies installation.
Step Eight: Ground Assembly
Assemble as many parts as possible on the ground to simplify the process and enhance safety when lifting into place.
Step Nine: Using Cotter Pins
Secure clamps with cotter pins immediately after closing to prevent accidental opening and potential injury.
Safety Information:
Use appropriate safety equipment, including gloves, eye and ear protection, and helmets. Ensure cuts are clean and pipes maintain their shape. Follow all safety guidelines for tools and equipment.

Make Sure Your Shipment is Complete and Undamaged. Nordfab ships most orders FOB Nordfab or “Free On Board.” This means that it is your responsibility to ensure that the materials you receive do not have freight damage and that the carrier has delivered all the boxes in your shipment. Inspect all boxes for outward damage BEFORE signing for receipt. The boxes should not be crushed, torn or otherwise damaged. If you find damage, either refuse the shipment or note the issue on the receipt you sign. Unless you do this, any future claims will be virtually impossible to collect. Additionally, before...

Supporting Your Ductwork. Nordfab has a variety of duct hanging devices, but it is your responsibility to ensure the safety of all ducting. When determining the weight your ceiling and hangers must support, always allow for the ducting being 100 percent clogged with whatever material is being conveyed. STEP SEVEN: Pre-Stretch Your Clamps. The Nordfab clamps are designed to provide a tight seal, which means that they also require some pressure to close. By pre-stretching the clamp around...
