NOLDEN Mould Connect

NOLDEN Mould Connect

Product catalog summary
Specifications:
The document outlines the specifications for a compact wiring terminal designed for multi-zone hot runner systems. It supports 24 or 48 thermocouples per box and can be extended with additional boxes. The system uses a single bus cable to connect to the controller and can integrate cavity pressure sensors and step motors. The main voltage for signal processing is 24V DC with a tolerance of 10%, and for step motors, it is 48V DC with a maximum of 10A. The thermocouple input supports 24 or 48 sensor channels per box, with FeCuNi type sensors ranging from 0 to 600°C. The mould connection bus uses CAN Open and EtherCAT® protocols.
Design:
The wiring box features a rugged, heat-resistant, and waterproof metal casing mounted on a metal bracket with heatproof shock absorbers. It includes removable casing plates on both front sides for easy linking with other boxes. Cable inlets are available on both sides, allowing for easy exchange of individual cables without dismantling the entire box. The central component is a mounting rack in the middle of the box, accessible from the top after removing the upper cover plate.
Functionality:
The system supports 24 or 48 thermocouples per box, connected to a signal processing unit with quick-release terminals. Signals are amplified, digitized, and transmitted via a bus cable to the controller. The box can accommodate 18 pressure sensors per box, using standard piezoelectric sensors. Signals are transmitted via a digital bus coupler to the central mould connecting cable. Additionally, it supports 14 step motors per box, with or without encoders, transmitting signals and energies via the central mould connecting cable.
Environmental Conditions:
The system is designed to be leak-tight with an IP63 rating if cable entrances are mounted correctly. The maximum operating temperature is 55°C, provided by the use of the standard mounting bracket.
Applications:
The wiring terminal is specifically designed for use with multi-zone hot runners and mould systems, significantly reducing wiring effort, simplifying operation, and enhancing reliability. Signals from all connected sensors are digitized directly in the mould and transmitted via a single cable to the controller or injection press, simplifying data processing and reducing downtime for mould changeovers.

NOLDEN Mould Connect-1

• Compact wiring terminal for multizone hotrunner systems • Only 1 bus cable to the controller • Can be extended on both sides with other boxes • Mould cavity pressure sensors and step motors can also be connected • Use with all controllers NOLDEN NR7000. injection moulding press ARBURG under developmen Application : Multichannel wiring terminal especially designed for use with multizone hotrunners and mould systems. Reduces dramatically the wiring effort, simplifies operation and enhances the reliability. The signals of all connected sensors are digitalized directly on the mould and are then transmitted via just 1 cable directly to the controller or injection press. Finally, data processing is simplified and downtime for mould changeovers is shortened. Just connect the plug to the controller, the mould is then automatically recognized and all relevant mould data are loaded. Design : Rugged, heat resistant and waterproof metal casing. Mounted on a metal bracket with heatproof shock absorbers, usually on top of the hotrunner or mould system. Both front sides with removable closing plates, so, other MOULD CONNECT boxes can be joined. Cable inlets on both sides with “Pflitsch” system, split joints for smaller cables such as thermocouples, so individual cables can easily be exchanged later on in case of a defect element without dismantling the whole box. Central component mounting rack in the middle of the box, easy access from the top after removal of the upper cover plate. Function : Thermocouples 24 or 48 thermocouples per box. 24 sensors are connected to 1 signal processing unit with quick release terminals, 1 or 2 units per box. Signals are then amplified, digitalized and transmitted via one bus cable to the controller. Mould cavity pressure measurement 1-8 pressure sensors per box, standard piezoelectrical sensores can be used. Per sensor 1 pressure transducer, signals are then transmitted via a digital bus coupler to the central mould connecting cable. Valve gate control 1-4 step motors per box, as well with and without encoder. Signals and energies for electronics and step motors are being transmitted via the central mould connecting NOLDEN REGELSYSTEME GMBH Tel.: 0049-2225-70951-00 E-Mail: [email protected] Werner-von-Siemens-Strasse 18 Fax: 0049-2225-70951-99 Internet: www.nolden-regler.de All rights reserved / Revision : 09/2018

NOLDEN Mould Connect-2

NCDLDENMould wiring box MOULD CONNECT cable. Servo drives under development, depending on the size of the drive, those must be connected directly to the controller at present. Depending on the application, also other sensors or smaller actuators, e.g. for core pullers or pneumatical valve gates, can be integrated into the box. Mould data The mould designator is coded by the controller and written into the memory of the box, from where it can be read out at any time. Upon connection of the mould cable plug, this is done automatically, the controller then reads all relevant mould data and suggest...
