Product catalog summary
General Specifications
The Series BB pushbuttons are designed for logic-level applications with an electrical capacity of 0.4VA maximum at 28V AC/DC. They feature a contact resistance of 50 milliohms maximum and insulation resistance of 500 megohms minimum at 500V DC. The dielectric strength is 500V AC for at least one minute. Mechanical life is rated at 50,000 operations for momentary action and 25,000 for alternate action, with similar ratings for electrical life. The nominal operating force is 2.55N for momentary and 2.94N for alternate action, with nonshorting contact timing and specified travel distances.
Materials & Finishes
The pushbuttons are constructed with a polyacetal plunger, carbon blended polyamide bushing, and a glass fiber reinforced polyamide case housing. The support bracket is made of tin-plated phosphor bronze, while both movable and stationary contacts are gold-plated copper alloy.
Environmental Data
These pushbuttons operate within a temperature range of -30°C to +85°C and can withstand humidity levels of 90-95% for 96 hours at 40°C. They are tested for vibration and shock resistance, withstanding 50G acceleration.
Installation
The cap installation force is 49.03N maximum, and the actuator must be in the UP position to remove the cap from alternate action models. Recommended soldering methods include wave and manual soldering, with cleaning specifications available in the supplement section.
Standards & Certifications
The pushbuttons meet UL94V-0 flammability standards but are not tested for UL recognition or CSA certification. They are intended for low-voltage, low-current logic-level circuits.
Distinctive Characteristics
The subminiature size saves space on PC boards, and the pushbuttons are available in momentary and maintained circuits. They feature an antistatic superstructure to prevent static discharge and an award-winning STC contact mechanism for enhanced reliability. The sealed body construction prevents contamination and allows efficient soldering and cleaning.
Ordering Information
The pushbuttons are available in various configurations, including SPDT and DPDT poles, with different cap colors and sizes. The typical ordering example includes specifications for plunger length, cap diameter, and terminal type.
