Product catalog summary

Overview

This document provides detailed technical specifications and application guidelines for Hi Cupla universal purpose couplings designed for low-pressure air lines. These couplings are primarily used to connect factory air lines to pneumatic tools and are available in various body materials, sizes, and end configurations.

Specifications

  • Working Pressure: 1.0 MPa (10 kgf/cm²)
  • Maximum Pressure Resistance: 1.5 MPa (15 kgf/cm²)
  • Valve Structure: One-way shut-off valve to prevent backflow
  • Working Temperature Range: Depends on seal material:
    • Nitrile Rubber (NBR): -20°C to +80°C
    • Fluoro Rubber (FKM): -20°C to +180°C
  • Materials: Steel (chrome-plated), Brass, Stainless Steel
  • Torque Values: Provided in N·m and kgf·cm for different sizes and materials

Design and Compatibility

  • Fluid flow direction must be from socket to plug.
  • Not suitable for vacuum applications in connected or disconnected states.
  • Sockets and plugs for models 10 (1/8"), 17 (1/4"), 20 (1/4"), 30 (3/8"), and 40 (1/2") are mutually connectable.
  • Sockets and plugs for models 400 (1/2"), 600 (3/4"), and 800 (1") are mutually connectable but cannot be connected across the two groups.
  • Interchangeable with all other Hi Cupla Series products.

Performance Data

Flow rates for air and water are provided for different coupling sizes, with pressure ratings and resistance values detailed in MPa and kgf/cm². For example, steel couplings have a working pressure of 1.5 MPa and pressure resistance of 2.0 MPa, while brass couplings have slightly lower pressure resistance.

Dimensions and Models

The document lists detailed dimensions for various plug and socket types, including hose barb (PH, SH), male thread (PM, SM), female thread (PF, SF), and parallel female thread (PFF) models. Key dimensional parameters include:

  • Length (Lp, Ls)
  • Width Across Flats (WAF, Hp, Hs, Hs(WAF))
  • Diameter measurements (øHp, øT, øBp, øBd, øBs)
  • Thread types and sizes (Rc, R, G, R, etc.)

Mass values for each model and material are also provided, facilitating selection based on weight constraints.

Application Examples

Typical applications include pneumatic tools and automatic woodworking assemblers. The couplings are designed for easy connection and disconnection, with a note that fluid may escape from the plug when disconnected.

Safety and Usage Notes

  • Users must read the Safety Guide and Instruction Sheet before use.
  • Ensure correct flow direction and compatibility of socket and plug models.
  • Not recommended for vacuum applications.

Summary of Critical Information

  • Working pressure: 1.0 MPa (10 kgf/cm²)
  • Maximum pressure resistance: up to 2.0 MPa (20 kgf/cm²) depending on material
  • Temperature range varies by seal material (NBR or FKM)
  • One-way shut-off valve design
  • Compatibility limited to specific model groups
  • Material options: Steel (chrome-plated), Brass, Stainless Steel
  • Detailed dimensional data available for precise fitting and installation
