INFRARED DETECTOR PRINCIPLE The sample gas stream passes through an analytical cell (optical path). The infrared light emitted by the source is absorbed by the sample gas in the cell and captured by a receiver. The decrease in intensity between the emitted and captured light is proportional to the concentration of the solvent. The infrared system is the cost-effective solution for simple solvent mixtures in low temperature applications.
