BSTFLEX heat protection Exhaust Pipe Insulation Jacket
Custom fabricated systems designed for engine and generator exhaust components, including mufflers, turbo-chargers, and pipes. These jackets are engineered to withstand high temperatures, reduce thermal radiation and convection, and minimize sound emissions. They are commonly used in marine powerplants, generators, and stationary backup power systems across industrial, commercial, and municipal installations.
The insulation jackets are constructed using thick needled fiberglass or silica insulation, supported by a stainless steel or inconel mesh. The outer fabric options include silicone rubber coated fiberglass, aluminized fiberglass, or silica. Fiberglass is generally suitable for non-turbocharged engines, while silica is recommended for turbocharged and gas turbine engines.
These jackets are specifically designed to accommodate exhaust piping and elbows, including provisions for hangers, brackets, flanges, and clamps. Special blankets are available for flex connectors, bellows, and expansion joints. The materials used allow for contraction, expansion, and vibration, ensuring durability and flexibility.

A thick needled fiberglass or silica insulation is mechanically supported by a stainless steel or inconel mesh and an outer fabric of either silicone rubber coated fiberglass, aluminized fiberglass or silica. Fiberglass is suitable for most non-turbocharged reciprocating engines. Silica may be required for turbo-charged engines and is required for gas turbine engine applications Insulation Jacket is specially designed for exhaust piping, elbows allowing for hangers/brackets, flanges, clamps, etc. We also makes special blankets for flex connectors, bellows and expansion joints. The insulation materials used allows for contraction, expansion and vibration. Removable blanket sections are assembled with either locking wire or spring clips with stainless hook fasteners or mushroom cap rivits mounted on the fabrics
