Overview
The basiScan OPO is a low-cost, entry-level nanosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) offering wide wavelength coverage from 410 nm to 2.5 μm. It is designed for applications in materials analysis, spectroscopy, laser-induced fluorescence, remote sensing, LIDAR, multiphoton interactions, combustion studies, and medical and biological processes.
Key Features- Wide wavelength coverage from 410 nm to 2.5 μm.
- Low pump fluences for extended BBO crystal lifetimes.
- Linewidths ranging from 10 to 450 cm-1.
- Intuitive ScanMaster software with GUI interface.
- Compatibility with Quanta-Ray INDI and Lab Nd:YAG lasers.
Performance and Efficiency
The basiScan OPO series, including the high energy (HE) version, offers superior performance with a simple, rugged design. The HE version uses a double pass pump architecture for higher efficiencies and energies, and includes an LBP option to protect the pump laser. The OPOs have low pump thresholds, making them efficient and robust, with longer component lifetimes due to lower pump fluences.
Specifications- Dimensions: Compact design with dimensions provided in mm.
- Pulse Energy: Ranges from 24 mJ to 138 mJ depending on the model.
- Linewidth: 10–450 cm-1 for standard models, 10–500 cm-1 for HE models.
- Repetition Rate: 0–30 Hz, with up to 30 Hz allowed if pump powers do not exceed 3.5 W.
- Tuning Range: 410–2500 nm.
- Beam Divergence: 3–8 mrad for standard models, 4–10 mrad for HE models.
- Beam Diameter: Less than 5.5 mm for standard models, less than 8 mm for HE models.
Applications
The basiScan OPO is suitable for a variety of applications in biology and chemistry where larger bandwidths are acceptable. It is particularly useful in environments where simple operation and minimal maintenance are desired.
