Overview: The NB4 Medium Performance Series by Newmark Systems is designed for applications requiring precision positioning at a low cost. It is suitable for research and industrial applications such as semiconductor processing, fiber optics manufacturing, and biotech automation.
Specifications: The NB4 series features a construction of 6061 aluminum alloy for a lightweight yet stable stage. It uses a stainless steel ACME leadscrew with an internally lubricated plastic drive nut for zero backlash operation. The series offers travel ranges from 2.5 to 6 inches, with a maximum load capacity of 15 lbs horizontally and vertically, and 10 lbs side load. The stages are equipped with integrated limit switches and a high torque size 17 stepper motor.
Performance: The NB4 series provides a resolution of 0.03 µm at 50,000 steps/rev motor resolution for a 0.062 in/rev lead, and 0.13 µm for a 0.250 in/rev lead. With an encoder, resolutions of 0.8 µm and 3.2 µm are achievable at 2,000 counts/rev, and 0.4 µm and 1.6 µm at 4,000 counts/rev. Maximum travel speeds are 0.5 inches/second for 0.062 in/rev lead and 2 inches/second for 0.250 in/rev lead.
Design Features: The NB4 stages include a machined cover for protection, internally mounted optical encoders, and separate connectors for motor power and limit/encoder signals. The stages are finished with black anodize for durability.
Configurations: The NB4 series can be configured in various assembly configurations such as XY, XYZ, XZ, and Z. Custom travel lengths and configurations are available upon consultation with the factory.
