Stainless Steel Pycnometer

Stainless Steel Pycnometer

Product catalog summary
Application
This document describes a precision instrument made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum, designed to determine the specific weight of paints and similar products. The device includes a container and a lid with an orifice for excess liquid. It is available in two capacities: 50 cc and 100 cc, with options for tare weights for balanced measurements.
Usage
  1. Determine the weight of a clean flask in grams. Alternatively, use a flask with an exact tare weight for laboratory scales.
  2. Remove the top and fill the container to 1/10 inch from the edge with the test material.
  3. Replace the top carefully to expel air and excess material through the ventilation hole.
  4. Clean the top to remove excess material and reweigh. Subtract the original flask weight to find the content weight. If tare weight is used, the scale will directly show the content weight.
  5. Clean thoroughly immediately after use.
Certificates of Calibration
The instrument can be provided with a SER-CT045 Certificate of Calibration with traceability.
